Bendición Abuelo

Hi!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Hanukkah.

I wasn't sure if I would write this post, but I want to be able to share happy as well as sad moments in my life with you all.  I've been MIA from here for over a week now, and the reason is my grandfather passed away on 12.20.14.

It was the hardest thing imaginable, but I'm so grateful that I got to see him and talk to him just a few days before he passed.  No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind.  My grandpa was strong, smart, kind, gentle, and the best role model our family has had for generations.  He lost his leg in a car accident back in 1979 and that never stopped him from living life and being the best grandpa a girl could ask for.

I remember he would drive me to my doctor appointments with my mom when I was a little girl.  After the doctors he would always take us to lunch.  We always ended up at Blimpie,  we loved their sandwiches.  My favorite memories are the ones we spent together on our birthdays since we share the same day.  I'll miss you forever abuelo.

My grandpa enhanced the lives of everyone he touched.  I feel the saddest for my grandmother, she's staying strong, but I can see her pain and how much she misses him.  You will forever live in our memories and our hearts.

"A beautiful life"

A beautiful life that came to an end, he died as he lived, everyone's friend.  In our hearts a memory will always be kept, of one we loved, and will never forget.

RIP my angel.

A Holiday Inspiration

8 days till Christmas!  Nope, I'm not done shopping.  I'm always running around last minute.

This weekend I attended my office holiday party, and I thought I was going to wear a grey dress, sequins cardi and for a pop of color, I would wear a red shoe.  After I tried the dress on at home, I wasn't feeling it.  Of course it's the day before the party now and I'm outfit less.

I remembered earlier in the week while visiting some of my favorite blogs, I saw Grace (Hi Grace!  Miss you girl!) from "A Southern Drawl" wearing the perfect holiday outfit.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I had an "inspired look" on my hands.  I wasn't going to recreate this look until next week sometime but thankfully, I had all the pieces in my closet and it worked out perfectly for my daytime holiday party.  I didn't do a leopard clutch because I had to carry my camera :(

Thanks for the inspiration Grace!

Baby, it's COLD outside

Coat: {c/o} OASAP - Chic Grey Pleated Coat | Scarf: Gift | Handbag: Kohl's | Hat: Forever 21 | Plaid Top: Target | Booties: Aerosoles Ankle Boots

As the weather gets colder, I'm finding it so hard to stay stylish and warm.  Winter coats are a staple in any winter wardrobe.  If your looking for a pop of color, like pink or a fun print you have to check out OASAP they have so many to choose from.  Here are some of my favorites.....

I already have a red and a color blocking coat in my closet, so I decided to order a simple grey pleated one because I thought it would be perfect to pair with some of my holiday outfits.

If you already have a winter coat and your looking for a new way to wear it, try belting it!  I got the idea from fellow blogger Viv {Fashion Truffles.}  It's a super easy way to tszuj up pieces that you already have in your closet.

Long Cardigan

Cardigan: Open-Front Lurex Cardigan | Jeans: Forever 21 | Handbag: Kate Spade (similar here) | Booties: A2 by Aerosoles

Hello December!  Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!  Today's my first day back to work since then and I'm super excited. #NOT!

So how did you all do with Black Friday and Cyber Monday?  Too many sales, too little time.  I did hit up a few stores over the weekend, which was mayhem.  I got this cardigan at Kohl's and its so soft and plush.  A long cardigan is one of my favorite sweaters for fall/winter.  Cozy and warm but still stylish.  A great boot ties it all together.  Of course I added my favorite cross body bag by Kate Spade for a pop of color.

Have a fabulous day!

Happy Monday sweets!  Wonderful weekend we just had and, its a short work week!  Happy Thanksgiving indeed!

Sweater weather is here and this one from Kohl's with side zippers is super edgy and chic.  Perfect for that casual turkey day!  I have a busy work week and weekend; so I wont be back with new posts until the first week in December.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Crop Top: Floral Scuba Xhilaration  | Jeans: Hudson | Coat: H&M | White Button Up: Zara | Cuff: Lola Blue The Closet | Handbag: Nine West Tribeca Pebbled Leather Satchel

Happy Monday!

Don't put those crop tops away just yet!  Ok maybe soon, but since it's still fall you can totally still rock them by just adding a white button up.  The floral pattern on this one from Target is so girly and fun!  I added black jeans and burgundy booties for that dark floral look.

Oversized Scarves

Happy hump day sweets!  I wish I could have actually done an outfit post with one of my oversized scarves.  I was a little under the weather over the weekend, but I still wanted to share one of the hottest trends for fall/winter.

Oversized scarves or "blanket scarves" will keep you warmer than your boo this season. Lol.  Perfect for layering!  As we head into winter putting a good outfit together can be difficult since your always wearing a jacket or coat.  The easiest way for me to feel fashionable in the winter months, is by simply adding a fun mix of accessories.  The oversized scarf is perfect for that, makes such a statement and keeps you warm.  These are a great gift idea for any fashionista on your holiday gift list.

Have a great day dolls!

Beanie Chic

Beanie: Gap / Plaid Top: Target / Beaded Sweatshirt: Kohl's / Necklace: Gifted / Coat: Easy Pickins / Handbag: Mandee / Jeans: Hudson

From beanies to turbans to trappers, fedoras, or even the popular wool wide-brim, this season's hottest hats will keep you cozy in the cold seasons to come.  I have to admit, I have a love/hate relationship with hats.  I love how chic they can make an outfit look but I hate hat hair!  An easy solution is the knitted headband.  They keep you warm and your hair fabulous!  Next week on the blog, I'm talking oversized scarves!  Stay tuned!

Have a great day!
