Bendición Abuelo

Hi!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Hanukkah.

I wasn't sure if I would write this post, but I want to be able to share happy as well as sad moments in my life with you all.  I've been MIA from here for over a week now, and the reason is my grandfather passed away on 12.20.14.

It was the hardest thing imaginable, but I'm so grateful that I got to see him and talk to him just a few days before he passed.  No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind.  My grandpa was strong, smart, kind, gentle, and the best role model our family has had for generations.  He lost his leg in a car accident back in 1979 and that never stopped him from living life and being the best grandpa a girl could ask for.

I remember he would drive me to my doctor appointments with my mom when I was a little girl.  After the doctors he would always take us to lunch.  We always ended up at Blimpie,  we loved their sandwiches.  My favorite memories are the ones we spent together on our birthdays since we share the same day.  I'll miss you forever abuelo.

My grandpa enhanced the lives of everyone he touched.  I feel the saddest for my grandmother, she's staying strong, but I can see her pain and how much she misses him.  You will forever live in our memories and our hearts.

A beautiful life that came to an end, he died as he lived, everyone's friend.  In our hearts a memory will always be kept, of one we loved, and will never forget.

RIP my angel.
