It's going to be 98 degrees in NJ today.....put a fork in me!  UGHHHH!!!!  I love the summer but 98 with 90% humidity is not fun for anyone.  If I didn't have a 9 to 5, I would probably be in as little clothing as possible or maybe at the beach! #wishfulthinking

Happy Martes (Tuesday)!

Feeling super bright in my neon dress today!  

I've had this dress for a while now, but I had no clue when I was planning on wearing it.  I decided to wear it today because the next few days are going to be HOT!  We are expecting a heat wave here in NJ in the next few days, and this knit long sleeve dress would be....NO BUENO!  I originally had planned on wearing this at night but I got inpatient just staring at it in my closet, maybe I'll remix it for you and do a night version in a later post. 

Neon has to be one of my favorite trends for this summer.  Are you getting in on the neon trend?  You better be!   The trend is everywhere....belts, scarves, shoes, accessories and even make-up!  You don't have to do it as bold as I did here, but a pop of neon is a summer must!

Casual Saturday

Happy Saturday!

Gorgeous day today!  My mom and I went to a local flea market today, so my outfit is super casual.  I got this shirt on clearance at H & M....I especially like the bat wing sleeves.

Sorry if my pics are a little blurry but my photographer was my little nephew and to top it off, I didn't use the same editing program I usually use.  If you ask me, I think he did a pretty good job....thanks Richie!

Sweet Buys, Sweeter Cause

Happy almost Friday!

SWEET BUYS

 I wanted to share with you sweets my latest buys!  I had to go shopping for Father's Day and of course that meant, pick something up for myself.  First up is this super cute sweater from Kohl's.  It's from their Candies line and I just loved the color and style.  I got the bright yellow, which is almost neon!

My next purchase was a pair of wedges.  As you all know I don't wear heels very often.  I have an easy, everyday kind of style.  I've been looking for the perfect wedge, that I can pretty much wear with everything.  When I saw these at Kohl's I knew I had to have them!  Get us to them sweets, I will be wearing them ALL the time!

Next, I went to H & M about 2 weeks ago and got a necklace and Shorts.  I couldn't find the necklace on their site, but I wore it on one of my previous posts (here).  Since the colored jeans trend is so hot and poppin, I decided to get a pair of colored shorts.  I really wanted like a pastel pink or mint but they didn't have my size so I got these instead.  They aren't denim they are trousers...which is pretty cool considering I have a lot of demin already.  What do you sweets think about my new stuff?  Cute???  I hope so! LOL!

My sweet friend Lucy is running a half marathon (how cool is she) for The Lazarex Foundation on September 2nd at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA and we need your help!  Lazarex is a charity that funds clinical trials for end stage cancer patients.  All money raised will go directly to the Lazarex Foundation. 

Lazarex builds a bridge to hope, dignity and life for cancer patients and their families. We provide financial assistance to defray the costs associated with patient participation in FDA clinical trials.

"Cut it out"

Happy hump day!

One of the biggest trends for this spring/summer season is "cut out shoulders"!  This trend gives an extra femininity to a simple or classic look.  Showing a little skin without being to revealing.....right up my alley!!

There's an old saying that a woman's shoulder never ages and whether that's true or not, strong shoulders are certainly something to be celebrated!

Feeling blue...unlike the sky!

I felt a little under the weather today.....and mother nature did too!  Could it be allergies???  A cold??  I hope it's just the weather that's making me feel like crap!

It was about to pour on my head while I was taking these photos!  The rest of the week is supposed to be nice so I guess one day of rain is ok.  There is a lite chill in the air so I decided to wear a sweater, since its not super cold I think this short sleeve sweater is pretty perfect for a dreary day like today.

To "Birch" or Not?

Oh Monday......we meet again! 

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!  My weekend was very uneventful!  I had no plans and the Mr. worked Saturday and Sunday.  Basically I vegged out all weekend.....felt so good!  I did want to share with you one outfit post since this is a fashion blog.  I went to the supermarket on Saturday night and this is what I wore.

Ok now the reason for this post!

Have you sweets heard of the latest beauty craze called "Birchbox"? 

Birchbox is a really great way to try out sample size beauty products of things that you normally might not try, or be able to afford.  When my friend told me about this I just had to check it out!

There's a fee of $10 a  month and every month you receive a box in the mail with 5 different products to try out, if you love it you'll be able to rack up reward points on their site to purchase a full size!

Has anyone tried this?  Is it worth it???  What if you don't use any of the products you get???  Should I try it???  I mean it is only $10 a month!

Also, lets not forget Father's Day!!!!  If your having a hard time finding a gift for dad they have a Men's Birchbox for $20 a month!  Would your dad or honey like this? 

I'm really debating ordering this so please leave your comments if you've tried this and either love it, or hate it!

Denim to the "Max"

Happy, HAPPY Friday!

For some reason this maxi dress reminds me of a curtain in the 70's......right?  I've had this maxi dress for a long time and I don't get tired of wearing it!  I have pieces that I wear one time and never see them again, and then I have pieces like this that I LOVE and can't get enough of.  Do you sweets like this denim bolero????  I'm still on the fence about it.

A few of my favorite blogger friends have been wearing denim vests....I sooooo need one!  When I saw Naty from A Love Affair With Fashion wearing it with this super cute aztec skirt, I knew I had to have one.  Naty was featured on Glamour for "best dressed" so cool!  Check it out Glamour Feature!   

I also saw a DIY for the denim vest using one of your old denim jackets....I don't know about that!  I wouldn't want to ruin a perfectly good jacket, and what if it doesn't look good? 

I've had this denim bolero for a long time and this is one of the pieces I NEVER wear unlike my dress.  The only reason I through it over this dress is because the denim vest trend inspired me.  Do you like it?  I actually thought about cutting the sleeves off of this, but I think it's too short for a vest.....right?  I guess I will have to add "denim vest" to my current cravings list.
