The Military Jacket

Wardrobe Essential: The Military Jacket

The military influence in fashion is so strong, I don't think its a "trend", it's something that never really goes out of style.  Designers have taken the classic military jacket to a whole new level.  Here is one of my favorite bloggers "Sincerely Jules" wearing it with a dress and boots.

If this transition-y weather has you stumped for what to wear in the mornings; the military jacket is pretty perfect.  You can wear it with a dress, jeans, pretty much anything!  I paired my military jacket with jeans and moccasins.  I hope to style it like Jules did with a dress, but I tend to wear jeans most of the week for work.

puffy eyes = bad allergies...sorry!

Jacket: NY & Company
Top and shoes: Old Navy
Handbag: Michael Kors

I hope you sweets incorporate the "military jacket" as part of  your spring wardrobe!

"A Bronx Tale"

Happy Sunday sweets!

Yesterday was my very first time at the new Yankee Stadium.

Baseball games call for comfortable outfits that show some team spirit.  Throw on your baseball cap and you’re ready to root, root, root for the home team in style!  That's exactly what the hubby and I did for yesterday's game.  My husband is a super Yankee fan so he had plenty of clothing options, I on the other hand had to stop at Modell's and pick something up.  I ended up with this super cute baseball cap with a pink Yankee sign.

Vest,sweater, and handbag: Old Navy
Yankee cap: Nineteen47

Not only were we looking forward to the game but also the food!!!    We had so many options to chose from, The Hard Rock Cafe, Johnny Rockets, etc.  We decided on taste testing a few things that caught our eye.  For starters we got the "garlic fries"

they surely live up to their name..."garlic"! You needed major mint action after these.  Next we hit up Premio for a hot sausage sandwich...yum!  After all that garlic I needed a sweet treat so I got this cool Carvel souvenir cup with chocolate ice cream.

Next stop was Brother Jimmy's BBQ for a pulled pork sandwich.  The pork was tender and delicious.  All in all we had an amazing time even though we lost to the Detroit Tigers! :(

Today I ran some errands and visited my local Mandees.  I kept my outfit super casual.  I'm wearing an old shirt that has skulls and red little hearts (sorry can't remember where I got it), Forever 21 skinnies, and Payless leopard print flats.

Top: old, Jeans: Forever 21, Ballet flats: Payless, Handbag: Michael Kors

Here are the goodies I picked up at Mandees:
Floral blazer, Tribal dress, and Chandelier earrings.

I love when weekends end in shopping!!!!  Now tomorrow it's Monday and it's back to reality.......WORK!
Work sucks, but how else are we fashionistas going to support our habit.  LOL!
Anyway, I hope you sweets like this post and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Paisley Party!

Hi Sweets!

Another gloomy day......I miss you sun!  The weather is not being very nice to us here in NJ.  I heard it's supposed to be gloomy all the way through the weekend. #nobueno!  I think it might be nice on Friday.....fingers crossed!

I work for a steel manufacturer so I rarely wear a skirt.  I'm in jeans all day, everyday!  I didn't want to feel like the weather,  so I decided to wear a skirt to cheer me up!

Mossimo Paisley Top (Target)
Bubble hem skirt - thrifted
Gold buckle flats - Mandees
Handbag - gifted

While doing my hair this morning, I wanted to do a pony tail with a braid.  After I did the braid; I twisted it around like I was going to do a bun, and look what happened.......a bow!  Yes it's not actually a bow but I thought it was pretty cute!

Lauren Conrad for Kohls faux leather jacket

I hope that you sweets enjoy this post and your Thursday.  Hopefully the sun will come out soon!

Spring is MIA!

Is it Spring???  I think NJ is still trying to figure that out!

I'm having the hardest time picking out outfits lately.....it seems like the weather is all over the place.  I don't want to continue wearing my winter clothes, and there's this brisk breeze in the air which makes it difficult to wear my spring clothes.  I visit some of my favorite bloggers site and they have these super cute florals and neon's, meanwhile I'm still wearing boots and longsleeves!  I know your wondering why am I still wearing boots????  Well If I wear open toe or ballet flats my feet feel like little popsicle's, I know you have to suffer for fashion but frozen toes and fingers = NOT FAB!  I heard that today was supposed to be around 60....my husband thinks that's perfect weather, but I need at least mid 70's to be comfy.  Here I am braving the cold breeze, and wearing my glitter oxfords.  My camera died after just 1 pic and not a very good one, I wanted to take pics outside so you can see how sparkly my shoes are, but since the weather isn't getting any warmer this week; I'm sure I will feature them on a later post.

Shirt: old but keeps me warm :)
Jeans: NY & Company
Shoes: Glitter oxfords from Mandees
Belt: NY & Company

Happy Hump Day Sweets!

"Anarchy"

Finally, something for the LADIES!

Axe makes my husband smell so good!!!  I must admit at first, I wanted to choke him.  LOL!  It smells great, but NOT at 6am.  I would literally wake up choking from the smell.  Now he knows...."take the Axe to another room".  I was shocked when he told me that Axe came out with a scent for women.  I thought "what do they know about women"?  Boy did I eat those words.....I LOVE IT!  I went to Target last weekend and picked up a can.  I say can because it's not a pretty fancy girly bottle, the only girly thing about the packaging, is that the letters are PINK!!!  The fragrance is delicate and fun!  I'm  not sure how long ago Axe came out with this scent but it was new to me; so here I am sharing.  #sharingiscaring!

I think it's a must try for under $4.

HAPPY HAPPY Friday sweets!!!!!!

Bun it UP!

High Bun Obsession

Spring is finally here (YEAH!!) and one of the hair trends that is promising to hit us hard is the high bun.  This is my go to hair style for second day hair or lazy days.  Another way to incorporate the high bun for spring/summer is to wear a headband like Jessica Alba did here.

Today was definitely a lazy day for me, so I decided to bun it  up!  My hair is super curly, and I have LOTS of it.  I'm definitely going to have bun obsession this spring/summer.  Will you?

Hope you sweets like my "bun"!

"Blazing"

A Blazer is one of the most versatile items ever!

They can come in a variety of styles, cuts, colors and patterns.  The short classic ones are easy to mix and match.   When it comes to colors; the choice is yours!  Blazers are very popular for any time of the year, no matter the temperature, season, or occasion.

My striped black + white blazer is from Marshalls, which I got for $19.99

I love that it's PINK inside.....pink makes me happy!

Boots: MIA (Mandees)

LOVE my new handbag!!!  It was a gift from my mother-in-law.  They had an accessories sale at her job and she got me this beauty!!!  It has studs and rhinestones.....yes and YES!

Thanks Mama P.!

Watch: Guess
Bow bracelet: Kohl's
Shamballa bracelet
Return to Tiffany
Round tag charm bracelet

Coco Chanel once said  "I always take off at least one piece of jewelry before I leave the house"
Sorry Coco......the more the merrier!  It's so hard for me to decide what to take off so, I just leave it all on :)

I found the "P" pin at a thrift store, and had to have it.  My new last name starts with a "P" so I thought it was fate!  I feel like Laverne from "Laverne and Shirley".

Happy hump day sweets!

My kind of Statement!

Statement necklaces have been popular for several seasons now, but if you haven’t gotten in on this trend yet, there’s no better time than the summer!  A statement necklace adds the perfect finishing touch to an otherwise simple outfit.

I got this necklace while visiting Atlantic City, which is my favorite local getaway.  I love slots!!!  I got it at one of the hotel lobby stores; it's not as big as most statement necklaces but it does make my simple outfit POP!  Today I paired  my Forever 21 skinnies with a floral top I got at a local discount store that we have here in NJ called "Conway".  I paid about $7 bucks for it...I also got it in blue.  I'm sure I will feature it in a later post.

Top: Conway
Jeans: Forever 21
Shoes: NY & Company
Lipstick: "Bordeaux" Rimmel London

Hope you enjoy this post, and make statement  necklaces part of your summer wardrobe!
Have a happy Tuesday Sweets!

Flower Bomb!

Dress: Target
Sandals: K-mart
Watch: Kenneth Cole

Happy Monday Sweets!  It was 80 something degrees in NJ today....WOW!  I was not fashionably ready for this weather.  I still have all of my spring/summer clothes put away.  I happen to have this dress hanging in my closet from my vacation over the fall.  I also haven't switched out my shoes; I  literally just grabbed these from my shoe bin and called it a day.  Hope you like the pics!
